I think I mentioned that Berle was running again as the Democrat (or is it Democratic? Wouldn't want to offend anyone here) candidate for Pecos Co. Commissioner. He called me up the other day to expand on his thoughts on renewable energy.
""Choke, how y'all doing. I have to admit this energy stuff is complicated as an Ozona family tree, with green meaning burning wood and all. I din't believe you when you tolt me that but the boys at DNC assured me it was't. Not that wood is gonna solve Pecos Co. energy problems, unless it is mesquite wood, but I am really excited by this here 'biofuels'. This is Obama-friendly and Pelosi-friendly and what not and it is the most egciting thing to hit us in these parts, I think. Apparently, the Chinese have dragons that heat water for bathin' and industral use and such. Berle Jr. saw it on the Olympics. GE, the folks that bring good things to life, have a commercial about it. 'Parently, they are bringing these dragons to the 'merican markets. Gonna solve all of America's energy problems. What you say about that, smart fossil-fuel boy?"
"Well, I saw that commercial too. But Berle, I don't think it was real. I think it was a kind of fantasy take on biofuels". I replied.
"No damn way. It was't GE for Christ sake. Not G** D***ed Disney. This is what Obama'n me are all about. Real energy solutions for Real Americans, and now our biggest electric company has got the biofuels from chinese dragons thing all worked out. That ain't fantasy, 'Choke, this is smart GE scientists at work. Not like the four eyed nerds from ExxonMobil in their 'Lympic commercials talking about how goood it is for young people to be scientists instead of hardworking lawyers and teachers and saying that they can't solve malaria and all. This is about real, honest to goodness dragon energy, and you can't handle it because you are so caught up in your last century oil thinking. Just a denier is all. A pure dee denier of Dragon energy." foamed Berle.
"No, no, no... Don't get me wrong, Berle. I am not an energy bigot. Dragon energy is fine. I am more worried about your fragile ecosystem down there in Pecos and the impact introducing Chinese Dragons to it will have! I heard they eat mule deer. "
Or, as alternative, Berle could adopt a “conservative” Republican approach and hold a series of “secret” meetings with anonymous people to develop a national energy policy, ala Bush / Cheney. This way we avoid that pesky element transparency and scrutiny by the public. Or perhaps we can just follow the plan given to us by Republican T. Boone Pickens, known greenmail impresario, swift boat truth financier and all around bad guy. We all know Boone puts the interest of America above his own business interests.

Yeah, Scott. Boones Plan. What a joke. "We can make this happen, but we need your help". To once again subsidize billionaires with tax dollars. Boones Plan requires ongoing significant subsidies to work. Otherwise, we wouldn't have heard one peep about it, and he wouldn't be spending 100 million on advertising.
