A recent University of Toronto study has determined that those who buy "environmentally-friendly" products are more likely to than others to cheat, steal, and engage in other unethical behaviors.
Apparently, buying green is a common component in a practice called "moral self-regulation", where those that have not so good behaviors balance it with good behaviors.
Or, turning this concept on its head, perhaps buying green makes you an antisocial jerk. Hard to tell which is cause and which is effect...
